Tomo, the first service for recommendations from trusted healthcare professionals

Who is Tomo?

Founded in July 2020, Tomo has developed the first service for recommending healthcare professionals among trusted individuals.

The goal? To enable patients to make medical appointments with healthcare professionals recommended by their friends and family or the Tomo network, rather than with strangers on Doctolib or Google.

While Doctolib does not allow us to know if healthcare professionals are right for us, Google shows ratings and comments. But these elements are unreliable and unclear: what does a rating of 3.6 mean for a healthcare professional? Good or bad? Tomo believes that this is not a relevant criterion for evaluation. This has been confirmed by a study conducted among its subscribers, 65% of whom agreed that recommendations are the ideal way to find a healthcare professional. Isn't that what we've always done (and still do today, despite Google ratings)?

Tomo allows you to create your own list of recommended practitioners and connect with your loved ones so you can benefit from their recommendations and those of your friends' friends when you're looking for a new healthcare professional. If you don't have any friends on Tomo yet, you can still benefit from recommendations from other Tomo users. No more waiting for your friends to reply and/or find contact details, or asking them for recommendations for personal situations. To respect your privacy, Tomo allows you to recommend healthcare professionals in hidden mode: your recommendation will be visible to your loved ones on Tomo, but they won't know that it's you specifically who is recommending that practitioner.

Furthermore, Tomo only allows users to recommend healthcare professionals rather than advise against them, and allows users to leave comments only for recommended professionals.

After launching in October 2020, Tomo now has tens of thousands of users, growing traffic every month, and thousands of recommendations for healthcare professionals in France. Join the trusted community and recommend your practitioners at www.jointomo.com.

A platform for making appointments with expert patients

The first instinct of a patient who has just learned their diagnosis is sometimes to spend hours online (on blogs or other sites) to learn about their new condition, when they have the strength to do so.

Tomo now offers these new patients the opportunity to make appointments and talk to Tomo Expert Patients (patients who have undergone training or have been selected by an association to talk to other patients) directly from its platform.

This makes it easier to access information, which is not always psychologically easy when you have just received a diagnosis, and gives you direct access to the experiences of people who have been living with the condition for years and have already been through what you are going through.

In addition, Tomo allows you to make appointments at any time and choose who you want to talk to, so you can select people who match your criteria (region, age, gender, date of diagnosis, etc.). To make an appointment with a Tomo Patient Expert, click here.

A communication platform for healthcare professionals

For healthcare professionals, Tomo is a useful combination of LinkedIn and Facebook groups: professionals have a verified profile showing their experience and expertise, and they can communicate in a structured and secure manner. Thanks to the profile, you know who is who and you can even search for and find healthcare professionals by expertise or specialty. Professionals can engage in private or public discussions with one or more people on selected topics through groups of individuals from the same specialty or several specialties.

The aim is to break down the isolation of independent professionals and promote high-quality exchanges on health issues (patient cases, current topics, replacements, financial assistance, etc.) with clearly identified healthcare professionals who are open to discussion. Healthcare professionals, join your colleagues here.
