What is fruit kefir? What are its benefits?

Originating in the Caucasus and created over 2,000 years ago, fruit kefir is a live drink, naturally rich in microorganisms and low in sugar. This drink helps strengthen the immune system and has dietary and purifying properties. Water and fruit kefir is obtained by fermenting kefir grains with water, fresh fruit, and sugar. The result is a naturally live and sparkling drink that is rich in probiotics, full of flavor, and low in sugar.

What is Labo Dumoulin?  

Labo Dumoulin is a young French brand that aims to democratize positive nutrition. To this end, it brews a range of organic water and fruit kefirs in Alsace, combining education and pleasure. The company has worked with a renowned research laboratory to study the stability of the microorganisms in its fruit kefirs. They are guaranteed to remain alive for between three and four months, after which the microorganisms, known as probiotics, begin to disappear. The fruit kefir then loses some of its benefits.

They have launched an identification of strains: Kloeckera apis, Leuconostoc mesenteroides spp dextranicum, Lactobacilluls sp, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and many others…

In order to preserve and promote this artisanal know-how and the ancestral recipe for fruit kefir, Labo Dumoulin wants to create a real fruit kefir label in collaboration with other artisanal brewers.

Fermentation is an incredible process. Fermentation naturally develops living microorganisms present in this type of drink. Why kill them and add microorganisms manufactured in a laboratory?
