Partnership between Performe and Nahibu
Spirulina, your everyday health ally!
What are the origins of Performe?
Performe was founded in 2020 and is a French brand of natural dietary supplements made from microalgae. Thanks to more than 25 years of family expertise, Performe offers you the best of spirulina in liquid supplements for better absorption and optimal effectiveness.
Our priority is to guarantee our customers the transparency and traceability of our products. Our supplements are manufactured from start to finish on our eco-farm in the heart of the Pyrénées-Orientales in the south of France.
Bertrand Lépine has been cultivating spirulina in France for 25 years. He invented and marketed the first liquid spirulina extracts titrated in phycocyanin (patent 1999). Still passionate about this cyanobacterium, he has a production greenhouse and a laboratory where he conducts R&D and extracts liquid extracts. Thanks to this expertise, Kévin and Antoine, the founders of Performe, have developed a fresh spirulina liquid extract concentrated in phycocyanin that is highly bioavailable and pleasant to consume.
What is spirulina?
Spirulina is one of the oldest living microorganisms on our planet. This microalgae is made up of two pigments: chlorophyll and phycocyanin. For nearly 50 years, spirulina has been considered a health food and dietary supplement, which is why Performe, with over 25 years of expertise, decided to cultivate this microalgae.
Consuming our dry spirulina flakes, rich in protein, iron, and amino acids, will add that little extra nutritional boost to your salads, yogurts, or smoothies. Our liquid blue spirulina, rich in phycocyanin, will support your daily well-being. It will boost your immune system, help reduce inflammation, increase your energy levels, and improve your recovery.
What are its health benefits?
Beyond its rich nutritional value, spirulina has a significant impact on our body. It gives your microbiota a boost, as revealed in an article published in the journal Microbiology Open. This microalgae increases the number of bacteria that produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which are beneficial to our health.
Blue spirulina, thanks to its concentration of phycocyanin (the blue-red pigment in spirulina), has many benefits for the body:
- Natural anti-inflammatory action that does not cause any digestive problems. It reduces pain by inhibiting inflammation.
- It helps increase hemoglobin levels in the blood, which improves muscle oxygenation and enhances recovery from fatigue.
- It strengthens immunity. An in vivo study published in the Journal of Applied Phycology revealed that it promotes the proliferation of immune cells in the peripheral blood and bone marrow.
- Has an antioxidant effect. Oxidative stress is damage to cells caused by free radicals. It is the result of an imbalance between antioxidant and pro-oxidant free radicals, causing cellular aging. Several scientific studies have demonstrated the antioxidant power of phycocyanin, which traps these free radicals.
